I'm recently Forty. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually kind of excited about 40. I've been saying 40 for about 8 months, maybe just to get used to the idea. I welcome each new year, and I'm proud to be an experienced professional, an expert in some things, and generally level-headed adult.
But turning 40 seems like a milestone nonetheless, and I'm taking this opportunity to get my tushie in shape. I think I look fine in my clothes, and my husband thinks I look fine not in my clothes, but I'm fully 20 25 pounds heavier than I was when I got pregnant with my second child. He's now three. I'm afraid that if I don't get a handle on this now, I never will. Plus, early menopause is making everything just a little bit more challenging.

Enter the Hippie Chick Half Marathon. Running is fun, but it's even more fun because I'm training with my bestie, Dayl. Since she lives about an hour away from me, we can't run together very often, but we're motivating each other to keep running. Running the half with her on Mother's Day will be a highlight of the year, I know.
I'm excited to continue the progress I'm making, and a little nervous about putting it out there. Because, you know. If you say you're trying to change something about yourself, that's admitting that there's something wrong. Which is kind of hard for me. So here I go!
